About Us

ERS administers separate and distinct cost-sharing, multiple employer defined benefit pension plans for various employer agencies of the State of Georgia, as well as defined contribution plans, and a life insurance plan. We also serve as the State Social Security Administrator for all political subdivisions of the state.

Defined Benefit Programs

We administer benefits for 125,000 active employees and over 65,000 retirees and manage the investments for a $15 billion fund. All plans are funded by a combination of employee and employer contributions (excluding the Military Pension Fund).
