Nice Disguise! Fraudulent Website Alert

Post

You work hard for your money. Take a moment to protect it.

Scammers may pretend to be the State of Georgia, ERSGA, GaBreeze, Alight, or another organization you trust. They may call, email, or text you, hoping to steal your personal information, account password, or one-time security code.

They may also create fake websites that appear in online search results and look like the real thing. Artificial intelligence can make these websites even more convincing.

A familiar name, logo, or professional-looking website does not mean it is legitimate.

Go straight to the source.
When you want to access your benefits, type the full, official website address directly into the address bar at the top of your browser:

  • ERSGA: ers.ga.gov
When you access your account, the address in your browser may change to portal.ers.ga.gov
  • GaBreeze: GaBreeze.ga.gov
When you access your account, the address in your browser may change to worklife.alight.com.

These are legitimate addresses you may see when accessing your benefits. Check the spelling carefully before entering your information.

Remember these three steps:

  • TYPE IT: Don’t search! Enter the official address directly into your browser’s address bar.
  • CHECK IT: Check the address carefully before you sign in.
  • SAVE IT: Bookmark the official website so you can find it easily next time.

Keep your information private.
Never share your username, password, one-time security code, or Social Security number with someone who contacts you unexpectedly. Enter a security code only when you are signing in through a website you know is legitimate.

Be cautious with unexpected messages.
Avoid clicking links in unexpected emails or texts, even if they appear to come from an organization you recognize.

Don’t let urgency rush you.
A caller or message that pressures you to act immediately or threatens to suspend your account is a reason to pause and verify.

Verify independently.
If you receive an unexpected call or message about your benefits, contact ERSGA or GaBreeze using the numbers below. Don’t rely on a phone number provided in a suspicious message.

Think your information may be at risk?
If you entered your login information on a suspicious website, change your password immediately by going directly to the official website. If you use the same password for other accounts, change it there, too.

If you notice suspicious account activity, contact the appropriate organization right away.
