Your Rollover Options
You are receiving this notice because all or a portion of a payment you are receiving from an Employees’ Retirement System of Georgia (ERSGA) plan (the “Plan”) is eligible to be rolled over to an IRA or an employer plan. This notice is intended to help you decide whether to do such a rollover.
Visitors to ERSGA Must Have a Scheduled Appointment
To ensure the best possible service to our Members, effective February 1, 2020, ERSGA will only see visitors who have scheduled an appointment before coming to our office.

Q&A: Supplemental Guaranteed Lifetime Income (SGLI)
1. What is SGLI?
A Supplemental Guaranteed Lifetime Income (SGLI) is a separate monthly benefit, also called a supplemental annuity, that an ERS retiree can purchase using funds in Peach State Reserves. SGLI can be used to provide additional financial security during retirement through lifetime monthly benefit payments.

CARES Act and Your PSR Account – COVID-19
The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act was passed as a response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The bill contains certain provisions affecting Peach State Reserves (PSR) 401(k) and 457 plans. Please log in to your account at GaBreeze for information and updates.
This bill will not affect the administration any of ERSGA’s pension plans.

GDCP Overview
The Georgia Defined Contribution Plan (GDCP) was created by the 1992 Georgia Law, Act 996 effective July 1, 1992.
Its purpose is to provide a retirement system for temporary, seasonal, and part-time employees of:
- departments, bureaus, institutions, boards, or commissions of the State of Georgia
- the State Board of Education
- the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia
Excluded from membership are the following employees:
Peach State Reserves (PSR)
Termination Information
When separating from state employment, you are entitled to your vested funds in a PSR account.
Vested Balances of $1,000 or Less
Note: Before any money in a Self-Directed Brokerage Window can be removed from your account, the funds must be moved back into core funds.
The account is automatically “forced-out,” or paid out, according to the date indicated on the Separation From Employment Notice (approximately 90 days)
SB 26 Allows ERS Members to Purchase Prior GDCP Service
Effective July 1, 2020, ERS members with at least 5 years of ERS service, who were also GDCP members immediately prior to beginning ERS Membership, may be eligible to transfer or purchase such GDCP service in ERS. This GDCP service will be valued at full actuarial cost to members’ ERS benefit, which can be higher than the contributions to GDCP.

1. Why did I get a statement that only shows my ERS pension benefit?
If you do not have a balance in the PSR 401(k) or PSR 457 plan, then no Social Security estimate or PRS information was included on the statement. Your statement will only show your ERS pension benefit.
